Cinnamon Orzo

Cinnamon Orzo

Ingredients

2 cups orzo pasta 3 tbsp vegetable oil 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon 4 cups water 4 tsp Maraqah Beef Stock Base 1/2 tsp salt (optional, adjust to taste) Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish, optional)

Method

1. Toast the Orzo:

Heat the vegetable oil in a medium-sized pot over medium heat. Add the orzo and fry, stirring constantly, until the pasta is uniformly golden brown.

2. Season with Cinnamon:

Sprinkle the ground cinnamon over the toasted orzo and stir to coat the pasta evenly. Cook for 1 minute to release the aroma of the cinnamon.

3. Prepare the Stock:

In a separate bowl, mix the 4 cups of water with 4 tsp of Maraqah Beef Stock Base until dissolved.

4. Cook the Orzo:

Slowly pour the prepared stock into the pot with the orzo (be cautious as it may splatter). Stir well and bring to a boil.

5. Simmer Until Tender:

Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and let the orzo simmer for 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking. Cook until the liquid is absorbed and the orzo is tender.

6. Adjust Seasoning:

Taste and adjust salt, if needed.

7. Serve:

Fluff the orzo with a fork and transfer to a serving dish. Garnish with chopped parsley, if desired.

Enjoy this fragrant and hearty cinnamon orzo, a perfect side dish or a flavorful base for grilled meats!
